We’ve been there too
Our family have had our fair share of separation and school anxiety. Tricky drop-offs, tears once I got back to the car, and that horrible sinking feeling that sat with me for the rest of the day, wondering how they were when I couldn’t be with them.
I originally designed our Love Note Patches to help my own child. I wanted them to have something physical they could reach for when they needed a little safety and reassurance. Something that would help them feel close to me and remind them that, even when we were apart, I was thinking of them too.
Then I realised just how many other families were going through the same thing. School shouldn’t feel this hard. But when it does, I wanted to do whatever small thing I could to help other children feel safer, more reassured and a little closer to home.
So I started making them for other children too ❤️
Frequently asked questions
How do I get my handwriting
- Write your message using a dark felt tip pen on plain white paper
- Take a photo in good light
- Upload your photo with your order
Patches have a very small print area and we recommend 2-3 words max for original 7cm patches. You can make sure your writing will fit by drawing the shape of a heart and arranging your message within it, we will delete the heart when we edit it. As the print is small its really important to use a felt tip if you can so the lines are thick enough for us to cut out.
Larger 10cm patches can have slightly longer messages at around 5-6 words.

What if I would like different colours or messages on each patch?
The 'pack size' option you can see is for identical patches only because they are discounted (they are slightly faster to make this way).
But don't worry you can still order different multiple patches ☺️
If you would like each patch to be different you can add them to your cart one at a time, this way you will be able to upload different pictures or choose different messages for each.
Can they be washed as normal?
Yes!
- Wash as normal at 30/40c
- Iron on the reverse (not directly onto the print)
- Do not tumble dry
How do I iron on my patch?
To iron on: Instructions will be sent with your Patches along with a helpful follow up email. If you are unable to find them please drop us an email
When applied correctly on the right fabric, our iron-on patches last really well (lots of customers report them staying on for years!). That said, every fabric and iron setting is different, so we can’t guarantee permanence in every case. If you’d like to make them extra secure, sewing is always a reliable back-up.
